What is Go Play Week?

Golf Channel and GolfNow are committed to growing the game for golfers and enhancing the business of golf for our course partners. That’s why we’ve created a blockbuster week of events in what may be our biggest initiative yet.

Welcome to Go Play Week, the official banner under which we’ve lined up a number of exciting events you can choose from and host at your course.

From May 1 through May 5 there will be a collection of specific, golf-centered events designed to bring more golfers to your course and into the sport. The week is an unmatched opportunity to grow your business while supporting golf’s present and future.

Throughout the weeks and days leading up to May 1, Golf Channel and our other media resources will draw attention to the initiatives you and we will undertake, from encouraging new players to come out and play to inviting seasoned, avid golfers to test the latest equipment.

Here’s a list of what’s in store for you during what we’re calling Go Play Week:

Monday, May 1

Golf’s big week kicks off with the industry’s opportunity to give back—the World’s Largest Golf Outing. Sign up to participate and your course can contribute to charity while benefiting from the worldwide exposure and increased golfer demand that come with the day. Co-sponsored by Billy Casper Golf and GolfNow, this event will be bigger and better than ever.

Bring a Beginner

Tuesday, May 2

Tuesday is the chance for brand new golfers to experience the thrill and challenge of the sport on your course. On-air programming from Golf Channel will include instruction segments plus content tailored to beginning golfers, and a full range of contest options will be available for you to offer existing golfers and those who are just getting started in the game. It’s the ultimate BOGO (buy one, get one free): We suggest that any new golfer accompanying an experienced player plays for free.

Women’s Wednesday

Wednesday, May 3

Special on-air programming and available contest support give your course an opportunity to encourage more female golfers to step out onto the course. At your facility level, nine-hole rounds and networking events, women’s golf gear giveaways and more will give avid female golfers and new players alike the chance to experience the game.

Test Drive Thursday

Thursday, May 4

Every golfer loves an opportunity to try out the latest gear, and Thursday’s Test Drive is a chance for you to drive traffic to your course with demos and more. Combined with instruction materials and lessons, golfers will swing into your business and perhaps play a round after being fully outfitted.

Family Golf

Friday, May 5

Growing the game starts with encouraging young golfers to take up the sport. Family Golf Friday combines your goal to grow the game with the chance for families to discover your course and spend quality time together centered around the challenge, excitement and beauty of the sport.
