Credit card on profile (Vantiv)

This document explains how to save a credit card number in a customer’s profile when using Vantiv as a processor in versions 2015 and above.

Saving a credit card in a customer profile

  • Open the customer profile to store the customer’s credit card.
  • Click on the “Actions” button.
  • Click on the applicable option of how you will be performing the credit card entry:
    • Swipe Entry: you will swipe the card for entry.
    • Manual Device Entry: you will manually put in the credit card entry via the pin pad.
    • Manual Screen Entry: you will manually put in the credit card entry via the computer.

  • Fill in the credit card information.
  • Once finished, the card will be tokenized and stored showing the last four digits of the credit card.

  • Click “OK” to save.

Using a card on file for payment

  • Enter items in the shopping cart for purchase.
  • Ensure the customer’s name is listed in the shopping cart.
  • Click “Pay” when the customer is ready to check out.
  • Click “Card On File.”
  • Click “Click to Process.”
  • Click “Post” to finalize the transaction.
