Customer referrals

Golfnow One’s referrals functionality helps you track and thank Golfer for referring people to your business. You can also use it to track other sources where new golfers hear about you, like Google, a review site, or a magazine.

Customer-to-customer referrals

Note: The referring customer should already have a customer profile.

When you are ready to collect the referral information:

  1. Open the referred customer’s profile or create a new profile for the customer.
  2. Go to the Details tab.
  3. Find the Referred By field.
  4. Enter the person who referred the customer. When you start typing, the system will auto-suggest names. Click on the name to select it.
  5. Click Save.
  6. This will automatically create a referral listing in the Details tab of the referring customer’s profile, under Referral History.

Viewing a customer’s total referrals

To see how many people one customer referred to your business:

  1. Find the customer’s profile.
  2. Go to the Details tab.
  3. Find the Referral History field.
  4. The total number of referrals will display.
  5. Click View Referrals.
  6. A list of all referrals will appear with when they were marked as referred.

Using customer profiles to track other referral sources

If you want to track other sources where golfers hear about you, like Google, a review site, or a magazine:

Step 1: Pre-add referral sources as customer profiles

Create a dummy customer profile for each referral source you want to track. This will allow you to add the referral source as a referring “customer” in customer profiles. For example, create customer profiles for Google, Yelp, and Magazine Ad.

Step 2: Collect referral information

When you are ready to collect referral information from the customer:

  1. Open the referred customer’s profile, or create a new profile for the customer.
  2. Go to the Details tab.
  3. Find the Referred By field.
  4. Enter where the customer heard about you. When you start typing, the system will auto-suggest names. Click on the name to select it.
  5. Click Save.
  6. This will automatically create a referral listing in the Details tab of the referring source’s dummy customer profile, under Referral History.

Use the Customer Referrals Report in the Reports tab to see who your top referrers are within a selected date range and how many Golfer they referred in the selected date range.

Note: The Customer Referrals Report is based on the date when the referred customer profile was created. When a date range is selected, the Referrals column of the report counts the customer profiles that were created within that date range.
