LDX10 – How to Perform Inventory

In this tutorial, you will learn how to perform a physical inventory using the AML LDX10 Personal Data Terminal scanner. This procedure works for any Operating System.

PDT Scanner Installation Guide

Prior to performing the installation, make sure the inventory is properly installed using the procedures below. If you have already installed the scanner, skip this procedure.

Automatically Import Counts to Inventory Wizard

  1. Connect Scanner to computer using USB cable and wait until device is recognized
  2. Utilities | Physical Inventory
  3. Click Next until Step 3
  4. At Step 3, click Download
  5. Click on ‘List Files’, this will pull all files from the PDT
  6. Once all files show up, select the inventory file you want and click ‘Receive File’
  7. If any errors occur, you will be prompted to click Yes or No on prompt to view the errors. This will open in Notepad.
  8. Click View Data to review counts.
  9. Click Save Changes
  10. Click Next
  11. Select Partial or Full Inventory
  12. Click Next
  13. View Variance Report
  14. Click Next
  15. Click Roll Inventory
  16. Click Yes to Confirm

NOTE: Multiple inventory files can be imported to the inventory wizard. Repeat steps 4-8 above. Also, even after a file is imported, manual changes might be necessary, we always recommend spot checking multiple items to assure accuracy. The most accurate inventory method is a manual count.

Manually Import Counts to Inventory Wizard

This procedure can be used when needing to export inventory files from the PDT scanner, but not to use for immediate input into GolfNow Reservations for inventory.

Scanner Setup

No scanner setup necessary, just scan inventory per normal.

Manual Import Software Installation

Go to the link below and click the Download button next to DC Sync.
Click here to download and install the “DC Sync” Software

Send Files to Computer

  1. Connect Scanner to computer using USB cable and wait until device is recognized
  2. Open the DC Sync program either from the shortcut on the desktop or from program files, if the scanner is not plugged in or recognized it will throw an error upon login
  3. Once the scanner is recognized it will show all valid files currently on the PDT on the left hand side
  4. Transfer the files from the device to the computer:
    1. Click the Blue arrows in the center to transfer files from the device to the computer
    2. Choose/Create a save folder by clicking on ‘Browse’ (This can be any folder on the computer)
    3. Click ‘Fetch’ to complete the transfer

Import Procedure

  1. Utilities | Physical Inventory
  2. Click Next until Step 3
  3. At Step 3, click Edit
  4. Click Import From File on bottom left
  5. Select Sales Item Numbers Only (4Inv), or
  6. Select Sales Item Numbers and Quantity (4InvQTY)
  7. Click Browse
  8. Browse to the file imported above
  9. Click Open
  10. Click Import
  11. Wait for counts file to import
  12. View any errors.
  13. Select Full or Partial inventory
  14. Click Next
  15. Click Variance to view Variance Report
  16. Click Next
  17. Select Roll Inventory to complete inventory.
