Quickbooks online integration

The following document features the integration of Intuit QuickBooks Online with GolfNow Reservations (https://quickbooks.intuit.com/online/).

Requirements

The following are the basic requirements for this integration with Quickbooks and Reservations:

  • The facility must have their own QuickBooks Online account.

How to set up Quickbooks online integration

In GolfNow Reservations, navigate to the Third-Party Tab. Select Quickbooks under the Accounting section.

In the Quickbooks setup screen, enter the appropriate account information.

  • Application Token
    • The application token provided by GolfNow. This value is found in the GolfNow Inuit Developer Account.

  • Consumer Key
    • The OAuth Consumer Key provided by GolfNow. This value is found in the GolfNow Inuit Developer Account.

  • Consumer Secret
    • The OAuth Customer Secret Key provided by GolfNow. This value is found in the GolfNow Inuit Developer Account.

  • Request Token Endpoint
    • The endpoint portion of the Inuit OAuth request token URL. This value is specified in the QuickBooks API.
    • /get_request_token
  • Access Token Endpoint
    • The endpoint portion of the Intuit OAuth access token request URL. This value is specified in the QuickBooks API.
    • /get_access_token
  • Base URL
    • The base portion of the Request Token Endpoint and the Access Token Endpoint. This value is specified in the QuickBooks API.
    • https://oauth.intuit.com/oauth/v1
  • User Auth URL
    • The user authorization URL. This value is specified in the QuickBooks API.
    • https://appcenter.intuit.com/Connect/Begin

Connecting to Quickbooks

  • Once all of the information is filled in (previous page) and saved, click Connect to QuickBooks to retrieve an access token.
  • A browser will open to a sign in page. The facility will enter their specific credentials for their QuickBooks Online account.

  • Once signed in, authorize the sharing of your data between GolfNow Reservations and Intuit.

  • Once authorized, the browser will either be blank or display a message that the localhost address cannot be found. This means that the access token was returned but there is no web page to display. The browser can now be closed.
  • Back in GolfNow Reservations, the access token was captured and saved. A token is valid for 180 days.
  • If the access token has expired, a message is will display. To request a new token, select Connect to QuickBooks.

Exporting to Quickbooks online

  • To export to QuickBooks Online, select the QuickBooksOnline system from the Data Management screen (Utilities | Data Management).
  • If the current access token has expired or the QuickBooks setup screen is not setup correctly, the following message will be displayed (right).
