Selling a membership plan

Available to:  Admins, Reservationists
Optional Permissions Required:  None
System Settings Required:  System Settings > Memberships > Memberships and Payment 

Plans entered

To sell a membership plan, all membership plans must be entered in System Settings > Memberships. Each membership plan available for sale must have at least one payment plan. Each payment plan for a membership will appear as its own purchasable item on the order page.

Once a membership plan is sold, the customer will be added to the membership. A Membership tab will be added to the customer’s profile so you can view and edit their membership details.

Note: To sell a membership to a customer, remember to add the customer’s name to the top of the order. A membership cannot be sold unless a customer’s name is attached to the order.

Sell a membership with a one-time payment plan

After opening a new order, follow these steps to add the membership to the order:

  1. Open a new order.
  2. Enter the customer’s name.
  3. Click Add Items.
  4. Go to the Membership tab of the Order Items box.
  5. Select a payment plan from the Payment Plan drop-down menu.
  6. Enter an initiation fee
  7. .

  8. Enter a membership card number, if applicable.
  9. Review the benefits included in the membership.
  10. Click Add to Order.
  11. Optional: Add an employee for commission purposes by clicking on the order item and selecting an employee from the Employee/Commission To column.
  12. Continue with the order by adding payment information.
  13. Close the order.

Sell a membership with a recurring payment plan

  1. Open a new order.
  2. Enter the customer’s name.
  3. Click Add Items.
  4. Go to the Membership tab.
  5. Select a payment plan from the Payment Plan drop-down menu.
  6. Select Prorated or Full Fee from the Select Payment Option drop-down menu.
    • Selecting Prorated automatically reduces of the first month’s fee. The customer will only pay for the days left in the current month and not the full fee.
    • Selecting Full Fee charges the customer the full monthly fee regardless of the date of purchase.
  7. Select the day of month to charge recurring membership fees.
  8. Check Auto Renew if your business automatically renews memberships and charges credit cards after a membership plan expires.

    Note: GolfNow One doesn’t automatically charge membership fees. If you offer monthly memberships, you’ll need to manually charge customers each month using the Membership Charge Report

  9. Enter a membership card number, if applicable.
  10. Review the benefits included in the membership.
  11. Click Add to Order.
  12. Optional: Add an employee for commission purposes by clicking on the order item and selecting an employee from the Employee/Commission To column.
  13. Continue with the order by adding payment information.
  14. Close the order.
