Setting up modifier groups

Summary

This document discusses the setup of Modifier Groups, which is a new way to organize modifiers used in the F&B Touch Interface. These are particularly helpful in situations where the same group of modifiers needs to be used for several different items. The traditional way of setting up modifiers, copying and pasting them to different items, is still available for use as well.

How to set up Modifier Groups

  1. In GolfNow Reservations, navigate to the F&B Tab. Click Modifier Groups. You can also access this page directly from the touch interface screen by right-clicking, click edit and then Modifier Groups.modifier 1modifier 2
  2. Begin by creating Groups. Some examples may be Cook Temp, Sides, Mix-ins, etc.
    • Use the Gold Star to create New groups.
    • If this is a required modifier, select the proper minimum and maximum a server needs to select.
    • The Color Field option will allow you to select a color the button will appear when added the touch interface screen.
  3. Next, select “Modifiers” from the left hand side of the window.

    • In this screen, you will list ALL of the modifiers that will be used in the different modifier groups.
    • Priced modifiers still need to be created as sales items under Setup | Setup POS | Sales Items.
    • The Color Field option will allow you to select a color the button will appear when added the Touch Interface screen.
  4. Next, select “Groupings” from the left hand side of the window. This is where you select the Modifiers to be assigned to the Groups they belong to.modifiers 5
  5. Select the group you want to add Modifiers to from the list on the left hand side. With the Groups section, you can add an entire existing group to appear beneath this group.
    • Select the group and hit the Green Plus sign to add it to a Grouping.
    • Example: Add Cook Temp, Bun Choice, and Topping groups to Sandwiches.
    • In the Modifiers section, you are able to select the modifiers, configured in the previous step, to be part of this grouping.
      • You also have the ability to add priced modifiers in the Sales Item section.
        • As mentioned above, you will pre-configure these as normal in the Sales Item list.
      • Select the Modifiers and hit the Green Plus sign to add it to a Grouping.
    • The final section, “Selected Item Actions,” allows you to:
      • Select an item, and move it up or down on the list using the Green Arrows.
      • Delete an item that has accidentally been added using the Red X button.
  6. When finished, click OK to save your changes.

Adding modifiers to the touch interface

  1. Navigate to the touch screen portal from either the Home Tab or the Shopping Cart.
  2. Find the touch screen button where you want to add a Modifier Group.
  3. Right-click on the button.
  4. In the menu, select the option called “Modifier Groups to…”
  5. A menu will pop up with the available Modifier groups, check the boxes of the groups you want to add to that specific button.
  6. Click OK to confirm the selections to add them to the menu.
    • Groups will always add below the button you selected.
    • Changes made in the “Modifier Group” setup screen will not affect groups that have already been added to the touch interface.
