How to Setup GolfNow Internet Rules

In this tutorial, you will learn how to setup GolfNow Internet Rules.

Booking Rules allow you to set customized booking thresholds for each Customer Type. Please contact GolfNow Reservations Customer Support (844-800-4653) to activate this feature. Once a support representative confirms they have turned on Booking Rules, follow the Rules Wizard using the steps below.

The Rules Wizard is accessible from the E-Tools | Rules Wizard. The wizard guides you step by step through the rules process. Each step displays simple instructions so you don’t have to refer to the manual. It allows you to return to previous steps restart the process or cancel at any time and you can interrupt the wizard at any time.

Step 2 – Create Internet Customer Types

To create a new Internet customer type, click in the next empty row and type in the name of the new Internet customer type. Any current Internet customer types that previously have been synchronized will appear in the list.

Days in denotes how close to the current date that the Internet customer type can book tee times (1 means no same day reservations and 2 means no bookings before the next day). Days out specifies the number of days in advance the customer can make reservations online. Only one Internet customer type can be marked as default. If a customer is not logged in or is not assigned an Internet customer type, the default Internet customer type will be applied to that customer. The 3rd party flag indicates rules used by third party tee time brokers. CC Req checkbox determines if a credit card is required for the first party on a reservation made by a third party. Check or uncheck the active checkbox to toggle the Internet customer type on or off.

Step 3 – Customer Type Mapping

Allows the Internet customer types created in Step 1 to be matched up with the local customer types. Once set, the rules for the Internet customer types will be applied to the matching local customer types defined in Golf Reservations.

Step 4 – Customer Type Mapping Refinement

This step allows Internet customer types to be assigned to customers that have an Internet profile and have booked an online tee time at your golf course. Select an Internet customer type from the pull-down menu to assign it to the corresponding customer.

Step 5 – Rules Definition

Define the rules for each Internet customer type. The rules defined in this step will define what times customers can book online. Click on an Internet customer type on the left and any current rules will be displayed on the right. A rule can be added by clicking in each field on the right and selecting a day of the week from the pulldown menu and entering a start and end time. A rule can also be added by following the prompts at the bottom of the screen, entering the desired settings and then clicking the Add as New Rule button. Click the Save Existing Rule button to replace the current field in focus with the rule defined in the fields below. Once a rule is added, you can edit the rule by clicking in the fields and changing the entry. You can also click on a rule and change the settings in the prompts below and then click Save Existing Rule to update the rule. Uncheck the active checkbox to deactivate a rule that should no longer be used.
