Reservations support

System Requirements

Overview

This article describes the hardware and software required to install the GolfNow Reservations Server and client software. We can reuse any of our existing Black Boxes except for the T3400 since it has Vista 32-bit installed. Also, many older black box servers (T100 & T110) will only have 2GB of RAM and will not allow the 2016 server software to install. You can also use any other computer that meets the minimum requirements as shown below. Always try to choose the most powerful computer of the bunch to run the server on. A client can also be installed on the same computer as the server.

Also it can be helpful to make a POS computer the server that way if network connectivity were to drop, you’ll still have one machine they could use for booking tee times and cash transactions.

Supported Hardware

Receipt Printer

Citizen CT-s651 – this is a thermal printer that connects to the computer via USB. The same printer is used for kitchen and bar printing except it has a network adapter and will need to connect to an Ethernet cable for the local network.

Barcode Scanner

Honeywell Metrologic Voyager MS9540 – Used for raincheck functionality, member cards, coupons, tips, and of course item labels or UPCs to quickly bring up sales items in the shopping cart.

Cash Drawer

MMF MediaPLUS 17W x 16D x 5.4H inches 24v – We send out this drawer if existing ones are not compatible. Most drawers will be compatible if they are 24 volt drawers, this is normally printed somewhere on the drawer. If you’re not sure of the voltage of your drawer and are getting new printers from us, it would be best to replace the drawer to be sure we don’t fry a printer with the wrong voltage.

PDT – Personal Data Terminal (Inventory Scanner)

AML – LDX10 – this can be used when conducting a physical inventory to keep track of the counts and then import the counts into the GolfNow Reservations software. Particularly helpful at facilities with a large amount of inventory.

Credit and Debit Processing

To have integrated processing and the ability to store credit card information, you must process with either ETS or Vantiv (formerly known as Mercury). Both vendors have a magnetic strip reader option and customer facing Chip/Pin readers, these must be ordered either directly from the vendor or from GolfNow.
If you choose to use a different processor they will need to provide you with a stand alone machine to handle the transactions.

Pole Display

Bematech, LDX9000 – displays the total of the transaction for the customer to see.
